Transportation Policy

Eligibility and Behavior Requirements

To ensure a safe and stress-free transport experience for all pets in our care, dogs must meet behavioral expectations. Your dog must be well behaved. They must have the ability to stay calm, non territorial of others entering their space, may not be excessively vocal, or display disruptive behavior while in the vehicle. Dogs who display excessive vocalization, destructive behavior, or reactivity may be suspended from transportation services at the discretion of FHPS. In such cases, the client will be responsible for arranging all future daycare drop-offs and pick-ups.

Pet Parent Availability and Wait Policy

Clients are expected to be available and prepared for pet handoff during their assigned window. FHPS will wait a maximum of 10 minutes at either pick-up or drop-off location. Repeated tardiness, lack of communication, or missed handoffs may result in additional transportation fees or suspension from this service.

If a Client has a strict scheduling need (e.g., work obligation, event), this must be communicated 24 hours in advance. If no time constraint is disclosed and one is later imposed, the client will be responsible for arranging pick-up from daycare.

Regulations must be followed to ensure the safety of the other dogs within the car and to accommodate other pet parents’ schedules.

Transportation Schedule

Each household will be assigned a 20-minute estimated time window for pick-up and drop-off. While we strive to adhere to all scheduled windows, delays may occur due to traffic or unforeseen circumstances. Clients will be notified in the event of a delay. It is the Client responsibility to be present during the assigned 20-minute estimated time frame. To respect others schedules and to ensure the safety of the dogs, FHPS will move on and a fee for needing to loop back around will be applied.

In-Home Pick Up & Drop Off

No other dogs may be transported in the vehicle during this time to ensure the safety and supervision of all pets.

This service is only available between 3:30pm and 4:45pm, Monday through Friday, and must be scheduled 24 hours prior.

There is no in-home morning pick up available at this time.

Communication and Notifications

FHPS will notify pet parents at three key points for transport:

  1. When we are leashing up the dogs

  2. When the dogs are loaded into the vehicle, and

  3. When we are en route to the drop-off location.

Clients are expected to ensure that we have up-to-date contact information and to respond promptly to time-sensitive communications.
