Hi, I’m Kylie, the proud owner of Fire Hydrant Pet Sitting Co.

My journey in the pet care industry began back in 2013 at Nall Hills Animal Hospital, where I worked as a kennel attendant. It was there that I honed my skills in handling dogs and cats, administering medications, and developing a sharp eye for detail—all essential for exceptional pet care.

In 2015, I launched Fire Hydrant as a part-time passion project in Kansas City, KS. A year later, I relocated to Pomona, CA, and realized I wanted to make pet care my full-time career. In 2018, I took the leap, left my job in human resources, and officially transformed Fire Hydrant into an LLC.

Since then, it’s been an incredible adventure. I’ve had the opportunity to work with amazing pets, collaborate with talented team members, and partner with dedicated pet care professionals. In 2021, I was honored to join the board of the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters (NAPPS), where I help other professionals thrive in the pet care industry.

In 2023, I expanded Fire Hydrant by opening our first daycare facility in Chicago—all while continuing to operate and manage our Pomona location. It’s been a whirlwind, but I’m grateful for over 12 years of learning, growing, and building connections with pets and their families.

At Fire Hydrant, we prioritize a positive work environment. Our team has access to resources, training, and the freedom to ask any question—big or small. We prioritize setting aside personal matters to maintain a calm and welcoming environment for every pet in our care. Animals are highly attuned to energy, and our goal is to ensure they always feel secure, happy, and at ease with us.
